STRATEGY

A successful transition is being shaped by valuing and respecting each other.

We see transition consisting of three parts, all of them being neccessary to ensure an extensive takeover.

1. Relationship Building

It is not about becoming best friends. It is about creating a good and trustworthy foundation for successful foundation. If you understand, respect and accept each other, transition time becomes more productive, less miscommunication occures and you can adapt your transition time to your both needs.
Relationship Buidling is a topic we underestimated last year.

Co-Delivery

2. Plan your LC & Team Management together

Co-Delivery is about managing and leading your LC as one team - as currents and elects. If you work together as one EB1517 that shares responsibility you will easily achieve your LCs goals together. Don't invest to much time on planning the how but focus on executing your plans together with your LC.

More information can be found in the Co-Delivery Foundation Toolbox.

3a. Knowledge Transfer & Application

Knowledge transfer is important in order to takeover a lot of input, data and information for the next generation. Yet, how do we ensure sustainability in the topics we want to take over?
If people experience by doing and not only gather, read or discuss, chances are higher that people will incorporate it in their behaviours and remember learnings and crucial parts of their transition.
@Currents: Make it as interactive and excercise-based as possible
@Elects: Demand the application of the received input or learning by doing exercises.

3b. Executing as one team

Remember that summer peak will not happen if we do not execute as one team.
Transition is not an extra to do. It is a powerful mean to embrace the energy of two generations. This is why executing together is so important.
Your LC and team will feel the power of two generations if you showcase it as one unity, constantly review and evaluate your performance together and step by step let your successor take over responsibilities.
Use the free capacity to support the summer peak in the most effective way
